Hyun-soo Lee founded his production company Mulgimchi Studio in 2019, named after the cabbage dishes his mom often made at home. The studio, which specializes in post-production graphics and stereoscopic 3D imaging, mainly worked on TV commercials and music videos in a shared office. At the end of 2021, as the business picked up, Hyun-soo decided to hire two more employees to handle the additional work. Having outgrown its shared office, what Mulgimchi Studio needed now was its own, larger workspace.
The issue was that December was the most chaotic time for the type of work that Mulgimchi handled. “At the end of every year, there are a variety of award and broadcasting events, so it’s the time when we have the most work,” said Hyun-soo. He was faced with a dilemma—he needed the larger workspace to handle his work, but he had very little time to set up the workspace to do so.
It had taken less than a week to turn Hyun-soo’s decision into action, with Hyun-soo signing a lease for an empty office at his ideal location. But once the excitement wore off and reality set in, Hyun-soo realized that he had an immense task ahead of him.
“Before, we used a shared office, so we didn’t have to prepare any office furniture or supplies,” he said. “But after I signed the lease and confirmed the move-in date, my path ahead was unclear. The office was completely empty, without even a desk for me to put my computer on. Not only that, but I also needed everything the new employees needed, including computers, chairs, a projector screen and stand, power adapters, trash cans, and an electric heater to warm up the office that was freezing in the middle of winter. The first thing that came to mind at this time was Coupang.”

Hyun-soo, who was a WOW member on Coupang, had often ordered dog food and other daily necessities at home. Was it also possible to set up a new office through Coupang? He had his doubts, but with time being of the essence, he began his search.
He soon realized his concerns had been unfounded. From office chairs and electric heaters to monitors, keyboards, and computer parts, Hyun-soo was able to find and pay for almost everything he needed in one go. He was also able to save a significant amount of money, finding products of good quality and design at affordable prices. And as a WOW member, he received free shipping on all 47 orders he made on the December 17 move-in day. He was even able to get free installation of two 65-inch LED TVs through Rocket Installation.

Hyun-soo and his staff started their move-in at 8 AM, and finished setting up the studio at exactly 3 PM—establishing his new office in just seven hours with Rocket Delivery and Rocket Installation. “The office move was one of the most daring investments of my life,” said Hyun-soo. “To meet the delivery deadlines last December, we had to set up our new office in one day, and it would not have been possible without Coupang.”
Even after his move-in, Hyun-soo is actively using Coupang to run his studio. He emphasized that Coupang is essential in creating a pleasant working environment, offering everything from work equipment that he needs to snacks and drinks to support his employees in their work at an affordable price with fast Rocket Delivery.
“Every day I go to work in the office that I set up together with Coupang, I feel refreshed. Coupang, which gave us a special start, is a strong support for our studio,” said Hyun-soo.
