The farmers, who were sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in 2019, apply information and communications technology (ICT) in their production, processing, and logistics. This system also has the advantage of allowing the farmers to keep crop qualities such as sweetness and firmness consistent, as the crops are grown in an environment that is maintained at uniform conditions through technology.

“I went with Rocket Fresh because it is the fastest way for farmers to bring produce to customers in their freshest states,” said Hee-jun Kang, one of the farmers at the Dangjin Smart Farm.
Rocket Fresh uses Coupang’s innovative technology and massive end-to-end logistics network to deliver fresh foods and produce to customers at some of the fastest speeds in the market. Customers can order products as late as midnight to have their goods shipped to them by 7 A.M. the next morning, or order products in the morning to receive fresh deliveries the same day.
By partnering with Coupang, the Dangjin farmers were also able to receive more pay and operate their farms more stably through direct transactions with the company, while Coupang could provide a wider selection of high-quality products to customers.
