California-based Spread The Love partners with Coupang to tap new global markets
Los Angeles-based husband-and-wife team Val and Zach Fishbain are taking their organic nut butters from the West Coast to new customers throughout South Korea
Spread The Love, a Los Angeles-based maker of organic and natural nut butters that are gaining popularity across the U.S., is now accelerating the growth of its business by working with Coupang to make the company’s products available to customers in South Korea. As a U.S. tech company and one of the fastest-growing online retailers in the world, Coupang is uniquely positioned to help small and medium-sized American businesses reach new customers in Asia.
“We believe providing healthy, clean, natural food is one of the ways we show love to the people in our lives,” said Val Fishbain, co-founder and president. “We’re so excited that now, thanks to Coupang, we can share Spread The Love with new customers in South Korea and beyond.”
Coupang makes exporting easier
Coupang, which is based in Seattle and serves millions of customers in Korea, Taiwan, Japan, the U.S. and other markets, helps American businesses open direct sales channels into Asia. This helps them to grow their revenue by reaching new customers. Coupang helped facilitate more than $5 billion in overseas sales of U.S. goods in 2025 alone, working with thousands of American companies and brands. The company also uses innovative technology and logistics support to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for its customers, including greater consumer choice, lower prices and faster delivery times.
“As a small business, we’re always looking for new markets and new customers,” said Zach Fishbain, co-founder and CEO of Spread The Love. “We always knew that to sustain long-term growth, we needed to figure out how to get our products into markets overseas. Working with Coupang makes it so easy.

“We ship our products to Coupang’s fulfillment center in Riverside, California, and they handle the rest – all the logistics, export paperwork, processing of individual orders and deliveries to international customers. That enables us to stay focused on what we do best – creating delicious, healthy products for our customers.”
Coupang offers many benefits to U.S. small businesses looking to expand into Asian markets. One benefit is high visibility – in South Korea, for example, Coupang counts about half of all adults as customers. Another is logistics support, leveraging the company’s robust network of fulfillment centers, deep knowledge of import/export regulations, and innovative technologies and a ubiquitous delivery fleet to enable rapid delivery. Coupang also invests heavily in innovative AI and other technologies that enable continuous improvement in the export and customer fulfillment process.
“At Coupang, we’re proud to help thousands of American small and medium-sized businesses, agricultural producers and larger brands sell their goods to customers around the world,” said Bill Anaya, Coupang vice president. “We’ve built an innovative, AI-driven export engine that enables great American entrepreneurs — like Val and Zach Fishbain and the Spread The Love team — to expand their horizons, find new revenue abroad and keep growing their local teams.”
Nut butter born from love
Today, Spread The Love is a certified woman- and minority-owned business that makes a wide range of nut butter products for customers all over the world, including butters from peanuts, almonds, cashews and hazelnuts, in smooth, crunchy and flavored varieties. It all started with a simple observation and a commitment to taking action to make the world a better place.
“I started making peanut butter at home after we noticed all the unnecessary ingredients in the peanut butter we were buying at the store,” said Val. “We made some as party favors for guests at our wedding, and before we knew it, everyone wanted more. So, we thought, maybe this is something the world needs, and we can provide.”

As Spread The Love’s popularity grows, so does the Fishbains’ desire to find new customers and tap new markets. They have found a willing and capable partner in Coupang, as they look to continue growing their business in the Indo-Pacific region.
“We’re so excited about growing our partnership with Coupang,” said Zach. “We’re on a mission to spread the love, in the form of all-natural, oil-free, drizzleable nut butter, to as many people and places as we can. Our collaboration with Coupang is helping us make that dream come true, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
